The Ekiti -Kwara Youth (EKYN), in collaboration with the Well-being Foundation Africa and MOK Foundation, recently organised a highly impactful Menstrual Hygiene Programme aimed at educating and empowering female students on menstrual hygiene.

The programme was structured into three comprehensive training segments, providing hands-on experience in making menstrual pads. The first segment was facilitated by the esteemed Hajia Zainab Jimoh and Miss Roseline Chukwu from the Well-being Foundation Africa. Their expertise and engaging teaching methods laid a strong foundation for the students.

The second segment was expertly conducted by Miss Omolara Alabi, whose insightful guidance further enhanced the students' understanding and skills in the production of menstrual hygiene pad.

The event concluded with a segment where ten students were recognised for their active participation and their ability to accurately answer questions. These exemplary students were awarded various gifts as tokens of appreciation for their engagement and enthusiasm.

In a special highlight, two students, Iyanda Nafisat and Irewole Christiana of Etan Community Secondary School were given JAMB registration scholarships, to be availed upon the completion of their senior secondary school education, underscoring the commitment of EKYN and its partners to support the academic and personal development of young female students.

The programme was a resounding success, thanks to the collective efforts of the facilitators, organisers, and enthusiastic participants. In addition, the EKYN extends its heartfelt gratitude to all involved and remains dedicated to fostering education and empowerment in Ekiti LGA.

May we continue to find strength and inspiration to contribute to the development of our fatherland.
